Manhattan College’s Computer Engineering and Electrical sector has been given a grant that is supported by the Department of Education in Saudi Arabia to operate beside scientists at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University and Florida Global University in Saudi Arabia. The whole grant is about $2 million, where the MC receives a provision of $330,000.
The chief researcher of the project is Mahmoud Amin. Mahmoud has a Ph.D., and now he is an associate professor of computer engineering and electrical at the college. Besides, Professor Fayez Fahim Mohamed El-Sousy, who is from the Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University as well as Professor Osama A. Mohammed (who is a distinguished professor as well as associate dean in charge of research at the Florida International University will be operating towards finishing this Grand Problem.
Amin will be capable to advance his familiarity and skills in renewable energy foundations to make an f effort of finishing the long project that takes 36 months. The project is titled “Multi-objective Multi-Purpose Applications of Energy Storage in Electrical Power Systems with High Penetration of Renewable Energy.”
As defined in the project data, “The core objective of this mission is to advance a precise model for the best operation of HESSs (hybrid energy storage systems). Which allow high dissemination of renewable energy?” Moreover, the aim of making the mathematical classical, Amin has hopes to inspire scholars to be also involved in the investigation; Amin also needs to renovate the Supportable Energy Systems Test center in the Leo Engineering Building of MC. Currently, Amin is in the progress of selecting undergraduates to be his helpers without making the final decision.
Amin said that the involvement of the graduates and undergraduate students is one of the major charities of that project. He added more chances for scholars to be taken as an investigator helper for him under that project. Amin was working on creating different courses from his project to be among the leading result of the project. The researcher needed to establish a different course in the region. Amin was also working to improve the facilities of the laboratory. Bases of renewable energy have now increased their importance, unlike the past few years. He (Amin) distinguishes that it’s vital to familiarize his scholars to the learning of green energy. Amin finished his doctorate and master’s degree in the arena and has sustained to perform the extensive investigation as he joined the staff of MC in 2012.
